Roots:
I was born and raised in Orange County, California. In 2013, after I graduated from college and my husband finished his time in the military, we moved to Austin an have been here for the past three years.
Family Life:
I am married to the most amazing man, Rob. We do not have children yet; for now, we have our two sweet pups, Milo the Corgi and Bruce the Doberman.
Work Life:
I am currently the special education teacher of a self-contained Functional Academic Classroom and am in the educational process of becoming certified as a teacher of the visually impaired as well.

The biggest lesson I’ve learned through my iGnite experience is two-fold. It is that I need to take the time to take care of myself, and in doing so, that I am able to push myself to do more and better in so many ways throughout my life.
I’m most inspired by…
Many of you know that “inspire” is an important concept to me based on the tattoo that adorns my back. I try to find inspiration in all aspects of life, as well as find ways to inspire others. But, if I had to choose the first thing that comes to mind when asked who or what inspires me most, it would have to be the individuals with special needs that I am so blessed to work with. Knowing all the struggles and challenges they have to face on a regular basis, yet getting to see how much love they have for life and for others and how hard they strive persevere and learn is truly amazing.
Something people may not know about me…
I grew up backpacking since I was five years old. I have hiked the Grand Canyon three times, and it is my favorite place on Earth. Since moving, I have not been able to go as much, but I hope to continue exploring nature throughout my life.
My favorite color is…
Red because it can represent so many deep, intriguing ideas, from love and passion to determination and strength, or even a touch of danger. It’s such an exciting color – not to mention my obsession with roses has an influence on this.
I love this journey of life I am on and know that I am incredibly blessed. I am grateful for iGnite and look forward to many more great memories made!
