As you’ve probably seen on the home page of the iGnite website, the title and theme of Journey XIX is “Enthusiastic Living.” I chose this theme because I truly believe there’s only one way to live life, and that’s enthusiastically!
For some, like my mother and Kathleen’s father, this is an easy task, as they are both enthusiastic about everything. However, for others, this isn’t the case. Let’s face it, life will occasionally throw us lemons that can many times put us in a negative place. But with a consistent enthusiastic attitude, our problems become manageable and the result is a bright and fun lemonade stand!
In an effort to stay focused on the importance of enthusiastic living and to enjoy life at all junctures, I’ve created an acronym for “Enthusiastic Living.” This means that throughout the next seventeen weeks, each letter in “enthusiastic living” is going to represent a tip that I believe will help us live enthusiastically — and, based on the title, I am certain you’ve figured out that the first letter is “E”, which stands for EXERCISE!!!
Obviously, I think exercise is of immense importance and has a myriad of wonderful benefits. As we’ve all experienced, exercise makes us feel physically healthy, strong and energized. Exercise also de-clutters our mind which enables us to think more clearly. And thankfully, exercise always lifts our spirits and makes big problems seem small and less burdensome.
Exercise is also like a cup of coffee, although the “pick me up” lasts MUCH longer. Like coffee, exercise can become addictive, which on one hand is great, as we really do need to exercise thirty to sixty minutes, 5-7 days/week. However, because exercise does make us feel great, and we can easily become hooked on the endorphin rush and physical results, very soon our one cup of coffee turns into a pot of coffee. Case in point, all extremes are unhealthy, even exercise.
Indeed, regular exercise plays a momentous role in positively altering our attitude and life, which definitely affects whether or not we live enthusiastically. As we’ve all experienced, life very often gets busy and exercise can easily become the to-do that is neglected. Therefore, in an effort to inspire and inform you, below is a list of 10 Exercise Benefits that will no doubt play a role in you living a more “Enthusiastic Life!”

- Naturally causes a healthier and more conscience food selection
- Decreases stress and increases optimism and productivity
